Underwater granulator is similar to airflow granulator and water jet granulator. The modified formula is mainly made of alloy materials, especially PET, PC, ABS, (PP, PA), which are currently used in growing areas of materials; Formulas for plastic preservation film, degradable film and PET adhesive toughening have been developed.
The difference is that it has a smooth flow of water across the surface of the die, and direct contact with the surface of the die. The granulation chamber is large enough to allow the granulation cutter to rotate freely across the die surface without limiting the flow temperature. The molten polymer is extruded from the die, and the pellets are cut with a rotary knife. The pellets are taken out of the granulation chamber by the temperatured water and enter the centrifugal dryer. In the dryer, water is drained back into the storage tank, cooled and recycled for reuse. The pellets are dehydrated through a centrifugal dryer.
